African penguins at the Boulders colony near Simon’s Town bring movement, personality, and the South African coast into a workspace. The photograph is playful at first glance, but it also represents a species facing a serious conservation challenge.

Boulders Penguin Colony is a protected mainland colony within Table Mountain National Park. African penguins were uplisted to Critically Endangered on the IUCN Red List in 2024 after decades of severe population decline. That current status replaces the outdated “Vulnerable” and “Endangered” wording in the earlier product copy.

Available in canvas and framed cotton-paper formats in multiple sizes.
